This trial is looking for patients who are having surgery for esophageal cancer. Participants will compare two types of surgery and share their experiences about quality of life after the surgery.
You may be able to join if
- I am scheduled for minimally invasive esophagectomy
- I am scheduled for open esophagectomy
- I have signed informed consent
You may not be able to join if
- I am unable to complete quality of life questionnaires
- I am less than 18 years old

Check Your EligibilityTo assess short and long term outcomes after minimally invasive esophagectomy compared to open esophagectomy. To compare both standard outcome measures as well as patient derived outcome measures, in particular, quality of life (QOL). To look at the applicability of this QOL instrument to this patient group.
