Who this trial is looking for

This trial is looking for women aged 0-45 who are at risk for losing ovarian function due to cancer treatment or surgery. Participants will help develop methods to freeze ovarian tissue and possibly conceive later.

You may be able to join if

  • I am a premenopausal female between 0 and 45 years old.
  • I have a treatment plan that could lead to early menopause or ovarian failure.
  • I am undergoing cancer treatment that involves radiation or high dose chemotherapy.
  • I need surgery that will remove my ovaries for a medical reason.
  • I cannot or do not want to freeze my eggs or embryos.
  • I have had cancer treatment before but still have working ovaries.
  • I am medically stable enough for surgery.

  • I do not meet the eligibility criteria.
  • I have not been cleared by my doctor to undergo surgery.
  • I am already experiencing menopause.

About This Trial

The study hopes to contribute to the development of technologies of ovarian tissue freezing-thawing and in vitro maturation of immature eggs such that a person at risk for premature ovarian failure might be able to conceive a genetically related child.
