Who this trial is looking for

This trial is looking for patients with suspected or confirmed sigmoid colon cancer who may need surgery. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive standard imaging or additional MRI imaging before surgery to help guide their treatment decisions.

Are You a Good Fit for This Trial?

You may be able to join if

  • I have a suspected or proven sigmoid colon adenocarcinoma
  • I am eligible for curative treatment
  • I have no irresectable metastatic disease
  • My MRI can be reviewed before surgery
  • I have not yet decided on my radical treatment
  • I am at least 16 years old
  • I have provided written consent to participate

You may not be able to join if

  • I have metastatic disease
  • I have a synchronous second malignancy
  • I cannot undergo an MRI
  • I am allergic to Buscopan or have related health issues
  • I have severe co-morbidities that affect my treatment options

About This Trial
Patients with suspected or proven sigmoid colon adenocarcinoma, eligible for curative treatment whose MRI can be reviewed prior to surgery and has no decision regarding radical treatment are eligible.
