Who this trial is looking for

This trial is looking for adults with chronic sinusitis and nasal polyps who need surgery after medical treatment. Participants will undergo a new procedure in the clinic to see if it helps with their symptoms.

You may be able to join if

  • I am 18 years or older
  • I have been diagnosed with chronic sinusitis with nasal polyps
  • I have nasal polyps that grade 2 or higher
  • I have a nasal blockage score of 2 or higher
  • I have an acceptable physical health status
  • I have stable asthma or COPD without recent exacerbations
  • I can provide informed consent to join the study

You may not be able to join if

  • I am pregnant or breastfeeding
  • I have large hyperplastic polyps or deformities
  • I have a high facial pain score
  • I have had surgery affecting my nasal polyps grading
  • I cannot attend follow-up appointments
  • I have significant oral structural issues
  • I have an immunodeficiency or am immunocompromised
  • I do not understand English

Chronic rhinosinusitis, also called chronic sinusitis, is a very common life-long disease affecting over 5% of the Canadian population.
