This trial is looking for adults who had major colorectal surgery at a specific hospital during certain time frames. It studies how a special recovery program affects hospital stays and recovery after surgery.

You may be able to join if

  • I am 18 years or older.
  • I have had major colorectal surgery at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences between January 2014 and December 2014 or between June 2015 and November 2016.
  • I was classified as physical status 1-3 by the American Society of Anesthesiologists at the time of my surgery.

You may not be able to join if

  • I am under 18 years old.
  • I have a physical status classification greater than 3.

About This Trial
This is an observational study to look at the impact of the Enhanced Recovery After Surgery system for colorectal surgery (Group 1) in shortening hospital length of stay, reducing postoperative narcotic consumption, lowering Visual Analog Scale scores, decreasing the incidence of postoperative nausea and vomiting, and reducing 30-day readmission when compared to patients who had colorectal surgery…
