Who this trial is looking for

This trial is looking for healthy adults aged 18-60 who are right-handed and do not use drugs. Participants will undergo brain stimulation and MRI scans to help researchers understand how the stimulation affects the brain.

Are You a Good Fit for This Trial?

You may be able to join if

  • I am between 18 and 60 years old.
  • I am in good health.
  • I am right-handed.

You may not be able to join if

  • I have a history of stroke or brain lesions.
  • I have a family history of epilepsy.
  • I have any metallic implants that are not safe for MRI.
  • I have noise-induced hearing loss or tinnitus.
  • I have used any investigational drugs in the last 4 weeks.
  • I have had major depressive disorder or other serious mental health issues.
  • I currently use nicotine or have used it heavily in the past.
  • I have a substance use disorder.

About This Trial
Background: Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is form of non-invasive brain stimulation. It is approved to treat depression. TMS may help decrease drug craving. It is important to understand how TMS affects the brain. Such a better understanding would help to design ways to treat drug addiction.
