This trial is looking for adults who suddenly become ill and may need hospital care at home instead of a traditional hospital. Participants will receive treatment in their own home with support from a caregiver.
You may be able to join if
- I live within 5 miles or a 20-minute drive to the emergency department.
- I am at least 18 years old.
- I can find a caregiver who will stay with me for the first 24 hours.
- I have been diagnosed with conditions like asthma, heart failure, or kidney disease.
- I can consent to participate or have someone to consent for me.
You may not be able to join if
- I am homeless.
- I do not have heating when it is cold or air conditioning when it is hot.
- I am in police custody.
- I have a positive screening for domestic violence.
- I cannot move independently to the bathroom.
- I need certain emergency procedures that can't be done at home.
- I have conditions like severe kidney disease or a recent heart attack.
