Who this trial is looking for
This trial is looking for families with at least one member who has type 1 diabetes. Participants will give a blood sample, answer some questions about their health, and have their height and weight measured. Some participants may need to return for annual check-ups over 10 years.

- I have a first-degree family member with type 1 diabetes
- The family member with diabetes was diagnosed before age 39
- I am at least 2 years old
You may not be able to join if
- I have no family history of type 1 diabetes
- I have a family history of diabetes that is not type 1
- I have a personal or family history of autoimmune disease

* Families where at least one first-degree family member has type 1 diabetes
* The diabetic proband in the family was diagnosed before the age of 39
* Family members must be at least 2 years old to participate
