Who this trial is looking for
This trial is looking for people with visual field loss to test special prism glasses that help them see better while walking. Participants will visit the Schepens Eye Research Institute multiple times for fitting and testing of these glasses.
Are You a Good Fit for This Trial?
You may be able to join if
- I have visual field loss.
- I can see at least 20/50 in my better eye.
- I am in good enough health for 2-4 hour sessions.
- I can walk short distances independently.
- I can give my consent to participate.
- I can speak English.
You may not be able to join if
- I have physical or mental impairments that affect my walking.
- I have had a seizure in the last 6 months.
- I have hemispatial neglect.

The investigators will develop and test different configurations of high-power prisms to expand the field of vision of patients with visual field loss to assist them with obstacle detection when walking. Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria:
* Visual field loss, either peripheral field loss or hemianopic field loss
* Visual acuity of at least 20/50 in the better eye
* In sufficiently good health to be able to complete sessions lasting 2-4 hours
* Able to independently walk short distances
