Who this trial is looking for
This trial is looking for people who have had a stroke and now have difficulty speaking due to aphasia. Participants will undergo assessments and receive a treatment that combines speech therapy with a stimulation technique over 15 sessions.

- I am aged between 25 and 85.
- I am more than 6 months post-stroke.
- I have been diagnosed with aphasia.
- I had a stroke that affected the left side of my brain.
- I can still learn to name objects.
You may not be able to join if
- I have another neurological disease.
- I have damage to the right side of my brain.
- I have a significant mood disorder.
- I have had a substance or alcohol abuse problem in the last year.
- I have an implanted electrical device.
- I have had medical instability in the last 4 weeks.
- I am pregnant.

About This Trial
62 patients who are one year post stroke and have Aphasia as a result of that stroke will be recruited. Participants will have 4 assessment sessions and 15 treatment sessions. The TDCS will be to right Inferior Frontal Gyrus (IFG) (25 active, 25 sham) for 15 days. Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria:
1. aged 25-85
2. must be greater than 6 months post-stroke
3. must have a diagnosis of aphasia based on impaired performance on the Western Aphasia Battery-Revised, Boston Naming Test, or during discourse production
