Who this trial is looking for

This trial is looking for adults with a specific type of brain bleeding who might need surgery. Participants will undergo a minimally invasive procedure to remove the blood clot from the brain.

Are You a Good Fit for This Trial?

You may be able to join if

  • I am over 18 years old
  • I have a recent head CT showing a brain bleed larger than 20 mL
  • I can have surgery within 24 hours of my last known well time
  • I have a NIHSS score greater than 5
  • I have a Modified Rankin Scale score of 2 or less
  • I have a CT Angiography that shows no blood vessel problems

You may not be able to join if

  • I have a vascular lesion that caused my brain bleed
  • I have severe neurological issues like fixed/dilated pupils
  • I have a brain bleed in the lower part of my brain or brainstem
  • I have a life expectancy of less than 6 months
  • I have a bleeding disorder that cannot be corrected
  • I have a mechanical heart valve
  • I am pregnant
  • I am already in another clinical trial

About This Trial

This registry will study the use of the Aurora® Surgiscope to provide surgical access and visualization in minimally invasive removal of hematoma in the brain. Many methods of hematoma removal are available and will be based on surgeon preference. The impact of patient selection and time to surgery from last known well time will be explored.
