Who this trial is looking for
This trial is looking for healthy volunteers and patients with lung diseases to help test a new MRI method for checking lung function. Participants will take part in an imaging session where they will breathe in a special gas.

I have been diagnosed with lung disease by a doctor
I have not had a serious worsening of my lung function in the last 30 days

I am pregnant or breastfeeding
I cannot hold my breath for 15-16 seconds
I have cognitive problems that prevent me from giving consent
My oxygen levels are below 88%
I am in a hospital or institution
I do not fit into the MRI equipment

Healthy Volunteers:
* Subject has no diagnosed pulmonary conditions
* Ability to read and understand English or Spanish
Subjects with Lung Disease:
* Subject has a diagnosis of pulmonary dysfunction made by a physician
* No acute worsening of pulmonary function in the past 30…
Inclusion Criteria:

* Subject has no diagnosed pulmonary conditions
* Ability to read and understand English or Spanish
Subjects with Lung Disease:
* Subject has a diagnosis of pulmonary dysfunction made by a physician
* No acute worsening of pulmonary function in the past 30 days
* Ability to read and understand English or Spanish
Exclusion Criteria:
* MRI is contraindicated based on responses to MRI screening questionnaire
* Subject is pregnant or lactating
* Subject does not fit into 129Xe vest coil used for MRI
* Subject cannot hold his/her breath for 15-16 seconds
* Subject deemed unlikely to be able to comply with instructions during imaging
* Oxygen saturation \<88% on room air or with supplemental oxygen
* Cognitive deficits that preclude ability to provide consent
* Institutionalization
