Who this trial is looking for

This trial is looking for adults with liver or lung cancer and healthy volunteers. Participants will help test a new imaging technique that creates detailed moving images of the lungs and liver while breathing.

Are You a Good Fit for This Trial?

You may be able to join if

  • I am 21 or older
  • I have a tumor in my lungs or liver
  • My tumor is less than 7 cm in size
  • I will receive radiation therapy as part of my treatment
  • I will have a planning CT scan for my treatment
  • I have signed consent and can follow the imaging protocol
  • I am 18 or older (for healthy volunteers)

You may not be able to join if

  • I have any condition that prevents me from having an MRI
  • I have trouble lying flat on my back for long periods
  • I have serious medical or psychological conditions that may interfere
  • I am too large to fit in the MRI machine
  • I have claustrophobia
  • I am pregnant or breastfeeding
  • I have an active or chronic infection

About This Trial
The purpose of this study is to develop new ways to make medical images of the lungs and liver of adults using a technique called four-dimensional magnetic resonance imaging (4D-MRI). This technique produces three-dimensional movies of the inside of the chest and abdomen while the patient is breathing. (The fourth dimension is time!)
