This trial is looking for patients who need surgery for thumb osteoarthritis. Participants will compare two types of pain relief medications after their surgery.

- I am undergoing trapeziectomy for thumb osteoarthritis.
- I can speak and understand English.
You may not be able to join if
- I am pregnant.
- I currently use opioids.
- I am having other surgeries at the same time.
- I cannot complete study forms due to cognitive issues.
- I am allergic or intolerant to Ibuprofen, Acetaminophen, or Oxycodone.
- I have liver or kidney problems.
- I have a history of chronic heart failure or gastrointestinal bleeding.
- I have a history of complex regional pain syndrome.

About This Trial
In the US, pain management after surgery for surgical treatment of osteoarthritis at the base of the thumb typically consists of prescription opioids during the early recovery phase. Given the highly addictive nature of prescription opioids, guidelines are being evaluated by hand surgeons to reduce opioid use while still maintaining pain control after surgery. * Undergoing trapeziectomy for thumb osteoarthritis
English proficient,
Exclusion Criteria:
* Pregnancy
Current use of opioids
Concurrent surgeries (ex. trapeziectomy combined with carpal tunnel release)
