Who this trial is looking for

This trial is looking for children and adults with active lupus nephritis. Participants will receive either obinutuzumab with mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) or standard treatment with oral corticosteroids and MMF to see which is more effective.

Are You a Good Fit for This Trial?

You may be able to join if

  • I am a child aged 14-17 years old or an adult.
  • I have active lupus nephritis confirmed by a kidney biopsy within the last 8 weeks.
  • I have a urine protein-to-creatinine ratio of 0.5 g/g or higher.
  • I have no reasons preventing me from using the involved medications.
  • I can provide my consent to join this trial.
  • I am willing to use contraception while taking MMF.

You may not be able to join if

  • I have had a severe flare-up of my lupus requiring more medication than allowed.
  • I cannot be given 10 mg of prednisone after joining the study.
  • I am pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • I have used certain monoclonal antibodies in the last 6 months.
  • I have severe damage to my kidneys.
  • I have stage 4 or 5 chronic kidney disease.
  • I have an active infection like HIV or hepatitis.
  • I have had certain abnormal cervical conditions in the past 3 years.
