Who this trial is looking for
This trial is looking for Latino adults with type 2 diabetes who experience food insecurity. Participants will receive weekly food deliveries and lifestyle support to help improve their health over six months.
Are You a Good Fit for This Trial?
You may be able to join if
- I am 18 years or older.
- I identify as Hispanic, Latino, Chicano, or Spanish.
- I have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.
- I experience food insecurity.
- I have a body mass index (BMI) of 25 or higher.
- I receive care at a community health center.
- I live in Alameda or Contra Costa County and won’t move in the next year.
- I have access to a phone or computer with internet.
You may not be able to join if
- I cannot provide informed consent.
- I cannot speak, read, or understand English or Spanish.
- I have active substance use or serious mental health issues.
- I do not have a mailing address for food delivery.
- I plan to move out of the area in the next year.
- I am pregnant or planning to become pregnant in the next year.

About This Trial
The goal of ADELANTE is to determine whether a multi-level intervention to improve household food insecurity and glycemic control is effective for Latino patients with diabetes.
Specifically, ADELANTE aims to
1. determine whether weekly household food delivery plus an intensive lifestyle intervention is more effective than usual care for improving glycemic control (HbA1c) at 6 months,
