Who this trial is looking for

This trial is looking for adults with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) who have not received prior treatment. Participants will take acalabrutinib followed by either venetoclax or obinutuzumab to help shrink their tumors.

Are You a Good Fit for This Trial?

You may be able to join if

  • I am at least 18 years old.
  • I have been diagnosed with chronic lymphocytic leukemia or small lymphocytic lymphoma.
  • I have not received prior chemotherapy or targeted therapy for my CLL.
  • I meet specific treatment criteria outlined by medical guidelines.
  • I have symptoms or evidence of my cancer that require treatment.
  • I can take part in all required evaluations and procedures.
  • I understand the study and can provide informed consent.

You may not be able to join if

  • I have high-risk disease with specific genetic markers.
  • I have had significant heart problems in the last 6 months.
  • I have an active infection that needs intravenous treatment.
  • I cannot swallow oral medications.
  • I have a history of severe allergic reactions to the study drugs.
  • I have uncontrolled autoimmune diseases requiring high doses of steroids.
  • I have had major surgery within the last 28 days.
  • I have a known infection with HIV.

About This Trial
This phase II trial tests whether acalabrutinib in combination with venetoclax or obinutuzumab works to shrink tumors in patients with treatment-naive chronic lymphocytic leukemia . Acalabrutinib is also an inhibitor that works in the body to block the activation of certain cells that lead to the growth of cancerous B cells.
