Who this trial is looking for

This trial is looking for adults with major depression who may have experienced suicidal thoughts or attempts. Participants will help researchers understand the role of lithium levels in these conditions.

Are You a Good Fit for This Trial?

You may be able to join if

  • I am 18 years old or older
  • I have a current major depressive episode
  • I have not taken lithium in the past 12 months
  • I have had a suicidal event in the past 12 months (if I'm a suicide attempter/ideator)
  • I have not had a suicidal event in the past 12 months (if I'm an affective control)

You may not be able to join if

  • I have a lifetime diagnosis of schizoaffective disorder, schizophrenia, or psychosis
  • I am pregnant or breastfeeding
  • I am currently incarcerated or detained
  • I am under legal guardianship or curatorship
  • I cannot understand the experimental procedures
  • I am not affiliated with the French National Social Security System
  • I do not consent to participate in the study

About This Trial
Suicidal behavior is a major public health issue and there are currently no specific treatments for it. However, lithium, the reference treatment for bipolar disorder, have been shown to be effective in preventing suicidal risk.
