This trial is looking for children and young adults aged 1 to 18 who have chronic kidney disease and proteinuria. Participants will take a treatment called finerenone alongside their current heart medicine for about 18 months.

You may be able to join if

  • I am between 1 and 18 years old.
  • I have been diagnosed with chronic kidney disease.
  • I have previously taken part in the finerenone study FIONA.
  • I have been on ACE inhibitors or ARBs for at least 30 days.
  • My potassium level is within the specified range.
  • I can eat and drink normally or receive feeding through a tube.

You may not be able to join if

  • I have planned surgery that may affect my kidneys.
  • I am waiting for a kidney transplant.
  • I have severe high blood pressure.
  • I have severely low blood pressure.
  • I am allergic to the study treatment.
  • I have severe liver problems.
  • I am pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • I have had serious side effects from the finerenone study.
