Who this trial is looking for

This trial is looking for adults who have recently been diagnosed with a tough form of leukemia called acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and have not started treatment yet. Participants will receive different combinations of medications to see which one works best to reduce their cancer.

You may be able to join if

  • I have been diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia.
  • I have high-risk AML according to medical criteria.
  • I am between 18 and 59 years old.
  • I am willing to use two forms of birth control if I can become pregnant.
  • I have not been treated for my leukemia yet.
  • I have adequate kidney function.
  • I have undergone required medical tests recently.
  • I can swallow and retain oral medications.

You may not be able to join if

  • I have acute promyelocytic leukemia.
  • I have had a previous cancer treatment for AML.
  • I have certain genetic mutations related to my AML.
  • I have an active HIV infection.
  • I have untreated chronic hepatitis C infection.
  • I have a history of Wilson's disease or copper metabolism disorder.
  • I am pregnant or nursing.
  • I have received other investigational treatments recently.
