Who this trial is looking for

This trial is looking for adults with suspected acute myeloid leukemia or myelodysplastic syndrome who have not yet received treatment. Participants will be tested with blood and bone marrow tests to find markers that can help match them to specific treatments or continue standard care.

You may be able to join if

  • I am at least 18 years old
  • I have suspected acute myeloid leukemia or myelodysplastic syndrome
  • I have not received prior anti-cancer therapy for my condition
  • I agree to have blood and bone marrow tests
  • I can provide informed consent for this study
  • I can have my specimens stored for future research
  • I have a Zubrod Performance Status evaluation within 28 days before registration

You may not be able to join if

  • I have received prior anti-cancer therapy for my condition
  • I am currently receiving cytarabine therapy (other than a small amount for urgent need)
  • I have another active cancer that needs treatment
  • I have had previous treatment for myelodysplastic syndrome or myeloproliferative neoplasm

About This Trial

Inclusion Criteria: * Participants must be suspected to have previously untreated acute myeloid leukemia (AML) or myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS).
