This trial is looking for adults with cellulitis in one leg who have had symptoms for 10 days or less. Participants will receive either a 5-day or a 7-day course of flucloxacillin to see which duration is more effective for managing pain.
You may be able to join if
- I am 18 years or older
- I have symptoms of cellulitis in one leg for 10 days or less
- I have pain rated as 3/10 or higher
- I am willing to be randomized to either treatment group
- I can complete trial procedures in English
You may not be able to join if
- I have a penicillin allergy
- I have cellulitis in both legs
- I have had antibiotics for cellulitis in the past month
- I have post-operative cellulitis within the last 30 days
- I have cellulitis from a human or animal bite
- I have cellulitis associated with a chronic leg ulcer
- I need to be admitted to the hospital or require IV antibiotics
