Who this trial is looking for

This trial is looking for adults with specific mental health issues who also have cannabis use disorder. Participants will receive either an Avatar Intervention or supportive help to see which one is more effective in reducing cannabis use.

You may be able to join if

  • I am over 18 years old.
  • I have been diagnosed with cannabis use disorder.
  • I have been diagnosed with schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, or bipolar disorder with psychotic symptoms.

You may not be able to join if

  • I currently misuse substances other than cannabis.
  • I am receiving treatment for cannabis use disorder.
  • I am going through detox for cannabis withdrawal.
  • I have neurological disorders.
  • I have a severe and unstable physical illness.
  • I cannot provide consent.

About This Trial

The goal of this clinical trial is to conduct a single-blind randomized controlled trial to verify whether the Avatar Intervention has greater efficacy over supportive intervention to reduce cannabis use in patients with psychotic disorders.

Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria: * Males or females over 18 years of age who meet the DSM-5 criteria for CUD (≥4 criteria) ; * Patients will meet the DSM-5 criteria for schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, or bipolar disorder with psychotic symptoms.
