This trial is looking for adults needing breast surgery who want to try hypnosis to reduce pain medicine after surgery. Participants will receive hypnosis before and during their procedure.
You may be able to join if
- I am 18 years old or older.
- I am scheduled for breast surgery.
- I can read, write, and speak English or Spanish.
- I can provide written consent for the study.
You may not be able to join if
- I have serious mobility issues.
- I have major mental health conditions like schizophrenia.
- I have a history of long-term opioid use.
- I currently have pain rated 2 or higher on a scale of 0-10.
- I have uncontrolled diabetes or hypertension.
- I am receiving surgery for oncoplastic reconstruction.
- I have had chemotherapy for my current breast cancer.
- My surgery is expected to last longer than 3 hours.
