This trial is looking for patients with long-term atrial fibrillation who receive cardiac resynchronization therapy. Participants will either have a procedure to ablate a heart junction or continue with their current medication plan.
You may be able to join if
- I have been treated with cardiac resynchronization therapy for over 6 months
- I have been diagnosed with permanent or recurrent persistent atrial fibrillation
- I have needed emergency visits or hospital stays for my condition in the past year
- I am on optimized heart failure medication and rate control medication
- I am between 18 and 85 years old
- I can provide signed informed consent
You may not be able to join if
- I have had a heart attack or bypass surgery in the past 3 months
- There was a technical failure with my cardiac resynchronization therapy system
- I prefer to have my heart conduct signals naturally
- My expected survival is less than 1 year
- I have other serious health conditions that might interfere with the trial
- I have dementia as assessed by a mini-mental test
