This trial is looking for children and teens aged 8 to 18 who have been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes within the last 14 weeks. Participants will need to undergo non-invasive testing related to their blood vessels and wear a device that monitors blood pressure for 24 hours.
You may be able to join if
- I am between 8 and 18 years old.
- I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes within the last 14 weeks.
- I am willing to undergo a non-invasive arterial stiffness assessment for 1 hour.
- I am willing to wear a 24-hour automated blood pressure monitoring device.
You may not be able to join if
- I have another cardiometabolic or endocrine disease.
- I have a genetic syndrome like Down Syndrome or Prader-Willi.
- I have an eating disorder.
- I am a transgender child taking hormone blockers or exogenous sex steroids.
- I am currently taking medications that affect metabolism.
