Who this trial is looking for

This trial is looking for young men and adolescents who have faced trauma and may be at risk for HIV or substance use issues. Participants will take part in a study using virtual reality to explore these topics.

Are You a Good Fit for This Trial?

You may be able to join if

  • I am a young man who has sex with men or attracted to men.
  • I am aged 15-30 years.
  • I have experienced at least one traumatic event in my life.
  • I am sexually active or plan to be in the next year.
  • I live in the Charleston, SC/Tri-county area.
  • I report using substances in the past year (ages 15-17) or 6 months (ages 18-30).
  • I work directly with adolescents who have experienced trauma or substance use disorders.

You may not be able to join if

  • I have psychotic symptoms.
  • I have significant cognitive disability.
  • I have a history of Pervasive Developmental Disorder.
  • I have active suicidal or homicidal thoughts.
  • I experience high levels of motion sickness.
