Inclusion Criteria:
* unilateral acute facial palsy of no identifiable cause
Exclusion Criteria:
* Recurrent facial Bell's palsy
* Pregnancy
* Diabetes
* Epilepsy
* Severe hypertension,
* Renal or hepatic disease,
* Gastric or duodenal ulcer
