Who this trial is looking for

This trial is looking for premenopausal women aged 35 and older who are at high risk for developing breast cancer. Participants will be taking either acolbifene or low dose tamoxifen to see how these treatments affect breast cancer risk.

You may be able to join if

  • I am at least 35 years old.
  • I have regular menstrual cycles unless using birth control.
  • I am not planning to become pregnant for at least 12 months.
  • I have increased breast cancer risk due to certain medical history or family history.
  • I have at least one healthy breast for a procedure called fine needle aspiration.
  • I understand the study and am willing to sign a consent form.

You may not be able to join if

  • I am currently pregnant or suspect I might be pregnant.
  • I have had a prior diagnosis of breast cancer.
  • I have severe liver or kidney problems.
  • I have an ongoing health issue that affects my ability to participate.

This phase IIA trial compares the effect of acolbifene versus low dose tamoxifen in preventing breast cancer in premenopausal women at high risk for developing breast cancer.
