This trial is looking for adults with chronic low back pain who are planning to receive a specific injection for pain relief. Participants will help researchers understand how this treatment affects pain signals in the brain.
You may be able to join if
- I am over 18 years old
- I have chronic low back pain that lasts at least 3 months
- My low back pain is usually stronger than 3 out of 10
- I am scheduled for a lumbar medial branch block at UPMC Pain Management
- I can understand and complete study-related questionnaires
- I am willing and able to receive phone calls about the study
- I meet the cognitive function requirements
You may not be able to join if
- I have had spine surgery in the area where the injection will be given
- I have active worker's compensation or litigation claims
- I started new pain or psychiatric treatments within the last 2 weeks
- I am not fluent in English
- I have an unstable health condition that might affect the study
