This trial is looking for people in Malawi who have COVID-19 or are close to someone who does. Participants will help researchers understand how infections and vaccines work in the community.

You may be able to join if
- I have COVID-19 symptoms and my infection is confirmed
- I am aged 5 to 75 years
- I plan to live in Blantyre for the next 6 months
- I live with someone who has confirmed COVID-19
- I have not had a COVID-19 vaccine in the last 3 months
- I am willing to follow the study procedures and visits
- I give my informed consent to participate
You may not be able to join if
- I cannot stick to the visit schedule
- Half or more of my household does not want to participate
- I am pregnant
- I use cotrimoxazole prophylaxis long-term
- I have had two negative COVID-19 tests in a row after Month 1

Instead, morbidity and mortality rates in nearly the whole region are an order of magnitude lower than in Europe and the Americas. Inclusion Criteria Index Cases
1. Presents with symptoms of COVID-19 and has infection confirmed through RT-PCR or a rapid antigen test;
2. Aged 5 years to 75 years and plans to live in Blantyre, in the catchment area of the target research health centers for the following 6 months;
