This trial is looking for older adults who live alone and want to join a 10-week discussion about arts and culture with an international student. Participants should be over 60 and able to have daily conversations, even with hearing aids.

Are You a Good Fit for This Trial?

You may be able to join if

  • I live alone
  • I am older than 60 years old
  • I have lived in a subsidized apartment for at least one year
  • I can carry on a daily conversation with or without hearing aids
  • I have a score greater than 5 on the Short Portable Mental Status Questionnaire
  • I have a working smartphone that can do video conferencing
  • I can provide informed consent

You may not be able to join if

  • I have physical or sensory deficits that may impede participation
  • I am a non-English speaker

The purpose of the study is to evaluate the impact on older adults' wellbeing of participating in a 10-week conversation about arts and culture with an international university student whose native language is not English.
