Who this trial is looking for

This trial is looking for adults with cystic fibrosis to study lung function over a year using MRI scans with inhaled gas. Participants will have 3 to 5 visits to a research center and might be observed during a lung problem and its treatment.

Are You a Good Fit for This Trial?

You may be able to join if

  • I am 18 years old or older.
  • I have been diagnosed with cystic fibrosis.
  • I have mild lung disease with FEV1 60% or higher.
  • I have not used supplemental oxygen.
  • I do not have any pulmonary exacerbations in the past 4 weeks.
  • I have stable lung function within 10% of my best in the last 6 months.
  • I can attend scheduled visits.
  • I can undergo an MRI.

You may not be able to join if

  • I am a smoker or have smoked less than a year ago.
  • I have had any injury involving metal in my body.

About This Trial
The purpose of this study is to look at lung ventilation in people with cystic fibrosis over time (1 year) using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) with an inhaled contrast gas, and compare these measures to lung function assessed by spirometry and multiple breath nitrogen washout. This study also looks at how these measures change in response to a pulmonary exacerbation and treatment (if applicable…
