This trial is looking for adults who have had an ischemic stroke and are currently in inpatient rehabilitation. Participants will receive hyperbaric oxygen therapy to help improve their recovery.
You may be able to join if
- I am 18 years or older
- I have had an ischemic stroke confirmed by imaging
- It has been 7 to 30 days since my stroke
- I am admitted to Touro Inpatient Rehab Facility
You may not be able to join if
- My pre-stroke modified Rankin Scale Score is over 2
- I have experienced parenchymal hemorrhagic transformation
- I have receptive aphasia that prevents me from following safety instructions
- I have a history of recurrent seizures that changed my treatment in the past 3 months
- I have a lung disease that requires supplemental oxygen or daily respiratory medications

Check Your EligibilityThis study will critically examine the feasibility, safety and efficacy of HBOT during inpatient rehabilitation (IPR) after acute ischemic stroke measured by non-disruption of 3 hours of daily therapy, frequency of neurological deterioration or complications (seizure, hemorrhage, brain edema), and functional communication, activities of daily living (ADLs) and mobility.
