Who this trial is looking for

This trial is looking for adults who have severe infections and low blood pressure. Participants will either receive early steroid treatment or a placebo to see which is more effective.

Are You a Good Fit for This Trial?

You may be able to join if

  • I am 18 years or older.
  • I have suspected or definite sepsis.
  • I have low blood pressure with mean arterial pressure less than 65 mmHg.

You may not be able to join if

  • I cannot start treatment within 3 hours after my low blood pressure starts.
  • I have a type of shock that isn't caused by sepsis.
  • I am immunocompromised.
  • I have a hyperglycemic crisis.
  • I am pregnant.
  • I have recently had a cardiac arrest.
  • I have received etomidate before this trial.
  • I have taken systemic corticosteroids within the last 4 weeks.
