The most effective treatment for atlantoaxial dislocation is surgical treatment, with the principle of achieving reduction, reconstruction, and fusion of the atlantoaxial joint. The surgical strategies mainly include simple anterior approach, simple posterior approach, and combined anterior posterior approach.
