Who this trial is looking for

This trial is looking for children and adolescents aged 2 to 17 with type 1 diabetes to see if starting an automated insulin treatment early can help control their blood sugar better than standard injections or pumps. Participants will use a specific app and sensor to track their glucose levels during the study.

You may be able to join if

  • I am between 2 and 17.9 years old.
  • I have been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes for at least 3 months.
  • I have at least one positive test for diabetes-related auto-antibodies.
  • I am using multiple daily insulin injections or an insulin pump.
  • I or my guardians can count carbohydrates.
  • I have a smartphone that supports the Dexcom G6 app.
  • I am willing to use the Dexcom G6 sensor and app throughout the study.

You may not be able to join if

  • One of my parents or guardians does not want to participate.
  • I have another chronic disease affecting my blood sugar.
  • I am already using an automated insulin delivery system.
  • I have an allergy to the device adhesives.
  • I have trouble seeing or hearing the device alerts.
  • I have cognitive or psychological issues affecting my ability to participate.
  • I am enrolled in another clinical trial or took an unapproved drug recently.
  • I cannot attend all scheduled visits.
