Who this trial is looking for

This trial is looking for adults who have recently had a heart attack. Participants will receive either a medication called dapagliflozin or a placebo to see how it affects their health after the heart attack.

Are You a Good Fit for This Trial?

You may be able to join if

  • I am at least 18 years old.
  • I have had a heart attack within the last 7 days.
  • I am taking aspirin and another medication to prevent blood clots.
  • I can give my consent to participate.

You may not be able to join if

  • I have taken pioglitazone in the last 24 months.
  • I have taken rosiglitazone in the last 12 months.
  • I am currently using an SGLT2 inhibitor.
  • I have high blood pressure that is over 180/100.
  • I have Type 1 diabetes.
  • I am pregnant or nursing.
  • I have had bladder cancer or radiation to my lower abdomen.
  • I have serious heart or other health conditions that prevent me from participating.
