This trial is looking for young women aged 18 to 30 who experience menstrual pain not caused by other health issues. Participants will receive dry needling or acupuncture treatment and undergo assessments before and after their treatment.

You may be able to join if

  • I have been diagnosed with primary dysmenorrhea.
  • I am aged between 18 and 30 years.
  • I have experienced menstrual pain for more than 2 years.
  • My pain is greater than 30mm on the Visual Analog Scale.
  • I am willing to sign an informed consent form.
  • I am ready to undergo acupuncture treatment.
  • I will cooperate to complete the trial procedures.

You may not be able to join if

  • I have secondary dysmenorrhea or other reproductive issues.
  • I have a history of pregnancy, miscarriage, or planning for pregnancy.
  • I have skin infections on my abdomen or lower back.
  • I have used acupuncture or needling treatments in the past.
  • I have a history of mental illness or severe diseases.
  • I have visited a pain clinic or used certain pain relievers in the past 6 months.
  • I am currently taking anticoagulant medications.
  • I have had bad reactions to acupuncture before.
