Who this trial is looking for

This trial is looking for parents of autistic children aged 6 to 10 who have difficulty settling down at bedtime. Participating families will follow a new bedtime routine called 'The Power Down' for two weeks.

Are You a Good Fit for This Trial?

You may be able to join if

  • My child is between 6 and 10 years old.
  • My child has been diagnosed with autism.
  • My child has trouble settling down to sleep.
  • My child is sensitive to sensory input.
  • I am willing to help with a nightly routine.
  • I live in the Pittsburgh area.

You may not be able to join if

  • I do not understand English.
  • I cannot travel to the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
  • My child has experienced trauma that makes physical touch difficult.
  • My child sleeps at another caregiver's home more than half the time and that caregiver will not participate.

Inclusion Criteria: 1. Child between the ages of 6 and 10 years old (at least 40%, no more than 60% female) 2. Parent-reported autism diagnosis for child 3.
