Who this trial is looking for

This trial is looking for adults with or without shoulder pain to test a treatment called dry needling. Participants will have their muscle activity and other pain-related factors measured before and after the treatment.

Are You a Good Fit for This Trial?

You may be able to join if

  • I am at least 18 years old
  • I have had shoulder pain for more than 3 months or have no pain
  • I can lift my arm 90 degrees to the side
  • I can rotate my shoulder outward at least 30 degrees

You may not be able to join if

  • I have pain in my neck
  • I have had whiplash
  • I have had a shoulder injury
  • I have fibromyalgia
  • I am currently pregnant
  • I am afraid of needles

About This Trial
The main objective of this study will be to evaluate the effects of the application of the dry needling technique on the activity of the rotator cuff muscles in the shoulder. Inclusion Criteria: * Subjects of legal age * Subjects without shoulder pain or with unilateral shoulder pain of \> 3 months duration. * Have shoulder mobility of 90º of abduction and at least 30º of glenohumeral external rotation. Exclusion Criteria: * Have neck pain. * Whiplash * Having had tra…
