This trial is looking for adult patients who need an endotracheal tube removed after general anesthesia or critical illness. Participants will help researchers understand issues related to this procedure and the practices around it.
You may be able to join if
- I am 18 years old or older
- I need to have my endotracheal tube removed after general anesthesia
- I will be extubated in the operating room, another anesthesia location, or the ICU
- My extubation is happening during the enrollment period
You may not be able to join if
- My extubation is happening because I'm having life support withdrawn
- My extubation is for a tracheostomy decannulation
