This trial is looking for male patients aged 45 to 75 who have developed bacterial sepsis after major surgery. Participants will have their epigenetic markers compared to understand the progression of sepsis.

  • I am a male patient.
  • I am between 45 and 75 years old.
  • I have undergone major esophageal or digestive cancer surgery.
  • I have post-operative gram-negative bacterial sepsis.

You may not be able to join if

  • I am under 45 or over 75 years old.
  • I am a female patient.
  • I have had non-cancer surgeries.
  • I have gram-positive bacterial or fungal infections without gram-negative bacteria.
  • I have hematological cancer.
  • I am immunocompromised.
  • I oppose data collection and analysis for this study.
  • I am under guardianship or curatorship.

About This Trial
Sepsis is a multifactorial syndrome characterized by a dynamic course and a clinical outcome dependent on several factors, and responsible for one in five deaths worldwide. The aim of this trial is to identify new prognostic markers for the progression of sepsis to septic shock, by comparing epigenetic markers between patients who have or have not developed severe forms of sepsis.
