Who this trial is looking for

This trial is looking for individuals ages 3 to 75 who have been diagnosed with severe aplastic anemia that hasn't been treated before. Participants will undergo a bone marrow transplant to help restore normal blood cell production.

You may be able to join if

  • I am between 3 and 75 years old.
  • I have severe aplastic anemia.
  • I do not have a fully matched related donor available.
  • I have a donor available as defined in the study.
  • I can give informed consent or my legal guardian can.
  • I have adequate organ function.
  • I have a performance status of 60% or higher.
  • I agree to use two effective methods of contraception if I can get pregnant.

You may not be able to join if

  • I have inherited bone marrow failure syndromes.
  • I have clonal cytogenetic abnormalities indicating pre-MDS or MDS.
  • I have a formal diagnosis of MDS.
  • I have HLA antibodies against the selected donor.
  • I have previously had a treatment for my aplastic anemia.
  • I have had a previous stem cell transplant.
  • I am currently pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • I have had certain types of cancer within the past 5 years.
