Disorders of consciousness are a state in which consciousness is affected by brain damage, resulting in dysfunctions in alertness, awareness, and behavior. Patients with disorders of consciousness can be categorized into coma, unresponsive arousal syndrome(UWS), and minimally conscious states(MCS).
