Who this trial is looking for

This trial is looking for adults aged 18 to 64 who have major depressive disorder. Participants will take a weekly tablet of zelquistinel or a placebo for 6 weeks and visit the clinic weekly for evaluations.

You may be able to join if

  • I am between 18 and 64 years old.
  • I have been diagnosed with major depressive disorder.
  • My current depressive episode has lasted between 8 weeks and 24 months.
  • I have a Hamilton Depression Rating Scale score of 18 or higher.
  • I am medically stable as confirmed by tests.
  • I can understand the study and agree to participate.
  • I can provide written informed consent.

You may not be able to join if

  • I have treatment-resistant major depressive disorder.
  • I have a current diagnosis of bipolar disorder or other specified disorders.
  • I have had a psychotic disorder in the past.
  • I am currently taking antidepressants or antipsychotics.
  • I have a history of certain types of brain stimulation treatments.
  • I have significant kidney dysfunction.
