This trial is looking for women with extremely dense breast tissue who are currently participating in a breast cancer screening program. Participants will be assessed for eligibility and may receive new screening methods like contrast-enhanced mammography or abbreviated MRI.

You may be able to join if

  • I have a negative mammography result.
  • I have extremely dense breast tissue.
  • I am between 49 and 72 years old.
  • I live within 60 km of one of the participating hospitals.
  • I do not have breast implants.
  • I have no objections to sharing my data.
  • I am not part of the DENSE or STREAM trials.

You may not be able to join if

  • I have in-body metals that affect MRI procedures.
  • I have had an allergic reaction to contrast agents.
  • I have renal insufficiency (low kidney function).
  • I have severe claustrophobia.
  • I weigh over 150 kg.

Women with extremely dense breasts (nearly all glandular and connective tissue, little fatty tissue) have a 3-6 times higher risk of breast cancer than women with very low breast density.
