Rationale: The trapeziometacarpal (TMC) joint is one of the most common areas in the hand and wrist to develop osteoarthritis (OA). Currently, the two most widely used procedures are the trapeziectomy and the TMC-joint arthroplasty, both with their own pros and cons.
