Who this trial is looking for

This trial is looking for patients who have been receiving hemodialysis regularly. Participants will continue their usual treatments while comparing two types of dialysis filters to see if one improves health outcomes.

Are You a Good Fit for This Trial?

You may be able to join if

  • I am 60 years or older
  • I am 45 to 59 years old with a history of diabetes
  • I have been on dialysis for at least the last 90 days
  • I receive in-centre hemodialysis 3 or more times a week
  • I have a valid health insurance card

You may not be able to join if

  • My doctor thinks I am not appropriate for this study
  • I have known intolerance to the Nipro Elisio HX dialyzer
  • I plan to receive HDF or nocturnal HD
  • I might stop in-centre HD in the next 3 months
  • I cannot follow my dialysis treatment schedule
  • I have a strong preference for expanded HD
  • I am currently in another clinical trial that conflicts with this one
  • I have previously participated in this trial

About This Trial
The goal of this clinical trial is to evaluate the health effects of expanded hemodialysis in patients receiving hemodialysis. The main question it aims to answer is: 1\) Does expanded hemodialysis reduce the risk of death from any cause? Researchers will compare expanded hemodialysis to conventional hemodialysis (the treatment currently used for the majority of patients receiving hemodialysis) …
