This trial is looking for adults with Type 1 Diabetes who have had severe low blood sugar episodes. Participants will receive islet cell transplantation to evaluate safety and effectiveness.
You may be able to join if
- I am 18 to 60 years old.
- I have been diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes.
- I have low stimulated C-peptide levels.
- I have had at least one severe hypoglycemia in the last year.
You may not be able to join if
- I have Type 2 diabetes.
- I have untreated severe diabetes eye disease.
- I have serious heart disease.
- I have serious problems with my stomach or digestion.
- I have serious psychological issues.
- I have a history of cancer.
- I abuse tobacco, alcohol, or drugs.
- I am pregnant, breastfeeding, or unwilling to use effective birth control.
